What is the right thing to do? This could be an endless rumination, an action stopper. Marry this guy? Take that job? Fear, hesitation, uncertainty. Not useful if you have a goal you want to achieve or a decision to make for your life, prosperity and well-being.
When I’m teaching self-hypnosis at Bellevue College, I draw on the board. A picture of a peanut, in the shell. And a picture of the planet earth, with continents and oceans, and life. And I explain the power differential. The peanut is tiny, tiny, like your conscious analytical mind–limited. The planet earth is expansive like your creative unconscious mind–limitless, full of any resource you might need.
If you want action, the best ideas, inspiration, and useful emotion to drive action, that’s all in your unconscious mind. Therefore, hypnosis! It’s our access into the best, most positive and resourceful part of you that actually creates useful change.
